About

I am a first-year PhD student studying data science / machine learning in the UK. Supposedly the best way to learn something is to try to teach it, and so that is the point of
this blog.

I will be looking at various topics in mathematics, statistics, programming and machine learning.

    Hi,
I just stumbled across your blog, it looks great! I’m a freshman undergraduate in canada here and I’m looking at how to use python, machine learning and mathematics to aid me in computational biology!
Will definitely keep up with your blog.
    Good Luck!

  2. Hi thanks for commenting! Computational biology sounds very fun, I will be interested to see what you get up to.

Harri – great work on the Titanic problem, very much appreciated.

I followed your instructions and code to the letter … but I am getting stuck on ‘bin edges’ problem … any suggestions on how I can get around this?

    ValueError: Bin edges must be unique: array([ 0.42 , 16. , 20. , 24. ,
    28. , 29.69911765, 29.69911765, 32.5 ,
    38. , 47. , 80. ])
